The fruits of fall

Yesterday was a beautiful day! A gift for the soul.
Friends gathered for a get-together, a lovely scene in a hidden garden, playful children, some baked chestnuts with a glass of wine.

And there was a raisin pie. An incredible experience for our palates.

 Hoping to relive this soon...

Wine and chestnuts, how wonderful! I have never baked chestnuts and have been so curious about how they taste (I have only tried the preserved type or Asian style). Happy fall!

Delish! We have chestnuts in our garden, unfortunately you cannot eat them (but we have to pick them up from the soil anyway ;-) We were just talking about having baked chestnuts again this afternoon! How wonderful to see you actually enjoyed them Maya!

I must say, like KJ, I've never had baked chestnuts. How lovely it sounds! Good for you for slowing down and enjoying this time of year. We should all do the same!

Maya,

I love chestnuts, we grew up eating those every fall. Yummy!
